Helt ok sted med kino, scene, kafeteria, offentlige kontorer og svømmehall. Ungdomsklubben i Salangen har og lokaler her. Fra gammelt av ble det og benyttet som festlokale og det er blitt holdt noen konserter her gjennom årene.

Her utøves og øves scenekunst av ulike slag, både korps, kor og revyer og viseklubb.. Her er det kino, selskapslokale, bibliotek.
Storsalen blir også brukt til politiske møter som kommunestyre- og formannskapsmøter.
Kort sagt et godt allbrukshus i kommunen.
